Mark your calendars! Qualcomm is all set to unveil its latest powerhouse, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, on October 24. Promising a substantial leap in performance and energy efficiency, this new flagship SoC will debut ahead of schedule during the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii.
Breaking away from tradition, the much-anticipated event will take place a month earlier than last year. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to adopt a fresh 1+5+2 architecture, a departure from the 1+2+2+3 configuration used in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Gen 2 series.
Under the hood, the SoC will sport a Cortex-X4 prime core alongside 5x Cortex-A720 cores and 2x Cortex-A520 cores, as well as an Adreno 750 GPU. This powerful combination is set to deliver a significant boost in performance. Additionally, the CPU package will see an upgrade in its L3 cache from 8MB to 10MB.
According to well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series will be the first to feature Qualcomm’s new flagship chip in November. Other devices like the Vivo X100 series, iQOO 12 series, Redmi K70 series, OnePlus 12, and Realme GT5 are also expected to follow suit in the coming months.
