Today, the Vivo S17e has made a surprise debut on the company’s website, ahead of the official announcement of the entire S17 series expected to occur in a week’s time, on May 31st.
The Vivo S17e distinguishes itself with a high-quality display coupled with a mid-tier Dimensity 7200 chipset, and dual cameras, of which only one operates independently. Dominating the front of the Vivo S17e is a sophisticated 10-bit 6.78” AMOLED display featuring 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also boasts curved edges, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole cutout for the 16MP selfie camera.
The rear of the phone is graced by a 64MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary sensor, specifically tailored to enhance background blur for portrait photos. Powering the device is a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging via the USB-C port. The smartphone operates on OriginOS 3 atop Android 13 and offers Wi-Fi 6 and 5G connectivity.
Available in a trio of stunning colors – Gold, Blue, and Black, the former two present a unique sand design achieved by a novel three-layer coating technology. The Vivo S17e is now on sale, offered in three memory configurations: the 8/128GB variant priced at CNY2,099 ($300/€275), the 8/256GB variant for CNY2,299 ($325/€300), and the 12/256GB variant at CNY2,499 ($355/€330).
Typically, the ‘e’ variants from the S series remain exclusive to China. Therefore, we remain on the lookout for the impending S17 and S17 Pro, which are anticipated to reach international markets as part of the V family.
